ABOUT ME
 

Caroline Smith is an emerging mezzo-soprano from Orlando, Florida. She is a recent graduate student of the Eastman School of Music, where she studied with the acclaimed Katherine Ciesinski, to receive her Masters of Music in Vocal Performance. She graduated from the University of Central Florida with her Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance, studying with Dr. Jeremy Hunt. Recent role experiences includes Ching's Notes on Viardot (Georges Sand) with Buffalo Opera Unlimited, Osvaldo Golijov's Ainadamar (Federico García Lorca) with Eastman Opera Theatre and Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro (Marcellina) with UCF Opera. Recent concert work includes performing as a soloist in Mendelssohn's Elijah, Bruckner's Mass in F minor and Stravinsky's Cantata on Old English Texts, all at the Eastman School of Music. Recent accolades include second place at the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) competition.​ 

 

In spring 2026, Caroline covered the role of Geneviève in Debussy's Impressions de Pelléas with Eastman Opera Theatre in February and performed her masters degree recital "Danse macabre" in March. This coming season, Caroline made her professional debut with Buffalo Opera Unlimited in September, and she looks forward to performing as the alto soloist in Handel's Messiah at Zion Episcopal Church in Rome, NY, in December, and performing as the mezzo-soprano soloist in Rutter's Feel the Spirit with the Oneida Area Civic Chorale in March.

​Besides performing, she is interested in learning more about arts administration/management, program writing/editing, grant writing, and event planning.
